Framingham Public Schools

The math programs (Think Math! and Impact) are based on sound mathematical principles that focus on the conceptualization of mathematics. They provide opportunities for students to reason, problem solve, communicate, and connect mathematics to themselves. Each student is exposed to a variety of content standards - number and operation; patterns, relations and algebra; geometry; measurement; statistics and probability. In order to solve mathematical problems, students must learn to describe, to compare, and to discuss their approaches. With all the programs, alternative strategies are valued, multiple strategies are encouraged, and communication about mathematics is central.
