At Woodrow Wilson, we celebrate the diverse population that we serve. We are a Global Studies school. The Global Studies program enriches the standard curriculum with age-appropriate activities that expand children’s personal knowledge of the world. Through this program, children learn about different groups of people and their cultures and worldwide global issues.They are also exposed to the origin and development of history and cultures, as well as geography. The goal of our Global Studies program is to give all of our students a better understanding of the diversity of ideas and practices found in human societies, as well as commonalties across cultures and universal human traits.Students also gain an understanding as to how history and geography shape people and their values. Additionally, students learn that they need to be advocates for human rights and global issues around the world.
