The Framingham School Committee is pleased to announce the approval of a successor contract for Dr. Robert A. Tremblay, ensuring continued leadership and stability for the Framingham Public Schools.Â
The new contract begins July 1, 2026 and ends June 30, 2030, reaffirming the district’s commitment to strengthening standards-based, grade-level instruction; deepening relationships and developing partnerships; and creating opportunities for expansion and innovation, all of which is reinforce the Framingham Public Schools commitment to improving our practices and assuring students that they are valued, loved, and celebrated.Â
“Dr. Tremblay demonstrates a strong commitment to the Framingham Public Schools through his student-centered leadership. He has shown adaptability and resilience while leading the district through challenging times.” said Jessica Barnhill, School Committee Chair.  “His work in developing and implementing the district's strategic plan, engaging proactively with students and families, and launching initiatives to promote safety and emotional well-being aims to create an environment where every student feels valued and secure.  The Framingham School Committee looks forward to continuing its partnership with Dr. Tremblay to build a positive future for Framingham’s students, staff, and families to strengthen our community.”
Dr. Tremblay has led the development and implementation of three district Strategic Plans, nine annual fiscal budgets, two school building projects with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, ushered the expansion of preschool for our youngest learners and expanded early college opportunities for our ambitious high school students.
“I will never forget my promise during my interview in 2017 - to see the Class of 2030 through from Kindergarten to their graduation,” said Dr. Tremblay. “This endorsement from the Framingham School Committee means more to me than I can express. I am humbled by the opportunity to make good on that promise and to see the multi-year Strategic Plan through to completion. I am honored to continue to lead a school district with students and staff who inspire me everyday.”
As part of this successor contract, the performance bar has been raised and includes measures for improved student achievement in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, chronic absenteeism, advanced coursework participation, and English language proficiency. The Framingham School Committee looks forward to a continued partnership with Superintendent Tremblay and remains committed to providing high-quality education for all students.Â
