Background Check

Background Check

Our top priority is the safety and security of our educational community. To ensure the safety of everyone involved, we have implemented comprehensive measures and comply with the law by requiring all current and potential employees, volunteers, vendors, and student teachers with direct contact with our students to undergo a criminal background check. This enhanced protection level helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for all.

Criminal Offender Records Investigation (CORI)

Prior to entering the school grounds, anyone who works or interacts with students, including potential and current employees, volunteers, student teachers, and vendors, must undergo a criminal offender record information (CORI) check. This check examines your criminal history records, and your personal information will be reviewed by the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS). Please note that any information obtained from this check will be kept confidential and used strictly for safety and security screening purposes.

Fingerprinting

All prospective and current employees, as well as student teachers, must undergo fingerprinting for a national criminal record check. This mandatory procedure goes beyond the standard CORI background check, reinforcing our commitment to creating a safe environment for everyone. By adhering to this requirement, we are able to access a broader range of information that helps us make well-informed and responsible decisions when hiring individuals to join our school community. The national criminal record check involves utilizing fingerprinting technology to conduct a thorough examination of an individual's background.
