Transportation for an alternate stop or daycare is available for grades K to 5, but its availability is not guaranteed. 

The Transportation Department will assess all requests and inform you of the transportation decision. Please remember that services may not be available on the first school day. Children must be transported to and from this location five days a week without exceptions for safety. When selecting locations, transportation will be assigned to the nearest bus stop. Ensure that an adult is available to greet your child if required by the daycare provider.

Framingham Public Schools does not provide transportation to daycare vendors offering services, such as SMOC, YMCA, Suburban Athletic Club, and Boys & Girls Club. When these programs are closed, families need to arrange alternate transportation. Students cannot ride the bus on short notice or a few days a year. Additional locations without transportation provided include Kindercare, Learning Zone, and Longfellow Club. Moreover, FPS does not offer transportation to workplaces or business addresses.

FPS Transportation will be unavailable if your child uses transportation from a daycare vendor like SMOC, YMCA, Suburban, or Boys & Girls Club. Similarly, if your child attends the before/after school program at their school, FPS Transportation won' t be offered.

• ELIGIBLE STUDENTS: A home address located over 2 miles from the school, and the childcare location being more than 2 miles from the same school. If the alternate stop or daycare location is within 2 miles of the school, it becomes ineligible.
   
• INELIGIBLE STUDENTS: A home address that is less than 2 miles from the school attended. While requests can be submitted, they will be considered only after all eligible riders are placed. If transportation is available for ineligible requests, the cost is $250 per child, with a family maximum of $ 500.
