FPS District Wellness Advisory Committee

Framingham Public Schools as a District Wellness Advisory Committee that meets 4-5 times per school year to discuss current health issues affecting the Framingham Public Schools community, set health related goals based on community health trends, and reviews the district Wellness Policy. 

The FPS Wellness Advisory Commitee consists of a diverse group of individuals representing a variety of fields and roles within health and wellness including but not limited to: nutrition professionals, medical professionals, mental health professionals, local public helath representatives and community partners, FPS educators, school committee membership, district administrators, and adolescent health.

The FPS Wellness Advisory Committee is responsible for the development and triennial review of the Local Wellness Policy which is required by law for all Local Educational Agencies enrolled in the National School Lunch and/or National School Breakfast programs. The existing Local Wellness Policy was last reviewed during the 2024-2025 school year and approved by the Framingham Public School Committee in Open Session on March 26, 2025.
