The Department of Buildings and Grounds is vital to our community, employing over 70 dedicated custodians and 9 skilled maintenance staff. They work tirelessly to maintain 16 school buildings, covering 1,655,076 square feet, along with 265 acres of grounds.

These hardworking individuals create safe and welcoming environments for our students, caring for everything from athletic fields to pathways. Their commitment ensures that our schools are not just buildings but nurturing spaces where learning and growth happen every day. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Hemenway Elementary School Renovation/Replacement 

The City of Framingham is looking to replace Hemenway Elementary School on Water Street, built in 1961. Framingham applied to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Core grant program, which provides funding to offset project costs.  In December of 2023, the MSBA accepted Framingham Public Schools into the CORE program to explore next steps for the Hemenway School.
