Samar Dogar Memorial Scholarship

The Samar Dogar Memorial Scholarship

The Samar Dogar Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Samar Dogar. She gave her heart and soul to helping others grow and succeed. Samar spent her last years working at Harmony Grove Elementary School, formerly known as Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Framingham. She was a fearless leader for the Explorers Out of School Time (OST) Program. Samar was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2017 and, after a year and a half of fighting the disease, she passed away in 2018.

As a passionate parent and mother of three, Samar was a tireless educator, teaching for over 15 years at elementary schools in Dubai and Massachusetts, and with decades of volunteering and fundraising for her local community and mosques. Samar embodied what it meant to be a role model. She was eternally motivated and unable to stop herself from trying to fix a situation that needed remedying. She went about her work with humility, sacrificing for others without expecting anything in return.

In honor of her memory, every year, one student from each elementary school will receive a full scholarship in honor of Samar. Each year the scholarship applications can be submitted before August 1st. Awarded students and families will be notified by August 10th.
