Dear Explorers Families,

We are excited to share important information regarding the SY 2026-27 Explorers and Little Explorers registration. Please take a moment to review the details below about our before- and after-school programs, which are available for all currently enrolled FPS students entering Pre-K through 5th grade.

Explorers and Little Explorers are the Framingham Public Schools’ Department of Expanded Learning Time’s in-house child care programs licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Before and After School programming is available in all nine elementary schools and preschool sites. Any currently enrolled FPS student entering Pre-K to 5th grade in the 2026-27 school year is eligible to register.

SY26-27 Registration will be open for families during the following periods:

  • Incoming K: June 1st - June 30th, 2026

  • Incoming Pre-K and 1st-5th grade: April 1st - May 15th, 2026

If the number of interested families who register by the deadline exceeds the amount of slots available in accordance with our EEC license and staffing, we will run a lottery. Families will be notified no later than June 1st (for incoming Pre-K and 1st-5th) or July 3rd (for incoming K) if their child has been assigned a slot. Students who are not assigned a slot will be automatically added to a wait list.

Explorers' tuition rates for SY26-27 can be found Here (FY27 Tuition). Families with financial need may request financial assistance during the registration process. Please note that in order to be eligible to register for the 2026-27 school year, all balances (including late fees) from the 2025-2026 school year must be paid in full prior to June 30th.

We look forward to your registration!
