Professional Learning

FPS Online system for Professional Development courses, PDP transcripts, and external credit requests.

SmartEDU / Professional Development Website

Framingham Public Schools is a recognized provider of PDPs by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). FPS utilizes the SmartEDU web-based professional development management system. District staff and administrators can register for and receive PDPs for district-organized PD activities including PD day workshops, content and school-based workshops and partner-sponsored graduate level courses.

SmartEDU does not track PDPs awarded to educators for PD activities that take place outside the district. It is the educator’s responsibility to keep a record of their professional development. We suggest that you maintain a portfolio with documentation of all in-district as well as outside professional development activities. SmartEDU is a helpful tool for tracking PDPs awarded in-district. However, it is very important that you keep accurate records of all of your PD activities. For more information, see the DESE Educator License Renewal guidelines here: Documentation and Recordkeeping.
