Important Information on the Rights of Immigrant Students

Posted Date: 3/20/25 (8:00 PM)

Dear FPS Community,

Framingham Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all students have access to a safe, supportive, and equitable education. We want to share an important resource recently released by the Massachusetts Attorney General: The Rights of Immigrant Students to Attend School – A Guide for Families.

This flyer is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, and Mandarin and is designed to help families understand their rights when enrolling in and attending public schools.

This new resource accompanies previously issued guidance for K-12 Schools on Protecting Students and Their Information and Flyer for K-12 Schools on Protecting Students and Their Information—all of which support our commitment to protecting student privacy and ensuring every child has access to education, regardless of immigration status.

All documents are available on the Massachusetts Attorney General’s webpage: Resources for Immigrants in Massachusetts and our Transparency Center on the Framingham Public Schools website.

Together, we are committed to ensuring that every student in our district has access to a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
