Framingham is one of the many communities currently impacted by a national bus driver shortage. Framingham Public Schools utilizes transportation services from NRT Bus. While NRT has been actively recruiting drivers, we started the 2023 - 2024 school year with 57 bus drivers, not the 77 we need to be fully staffed. 

NRT hires two types of drivers – CDL drivers to drive school buses and mini-buses, and 7D drivers and monitors transport special needs students in school vans. Please see below for employment information and visit the NRT Bus Website to apply to become a bus driver. They provide training and classroom assistance to get fully licensed.

School Bus Drivers $25-$31/Hour

• $5,000 Sign-on Bonus for fully licensed school drivers.
• Must be at least 21
• Must have your license for 3 consecutive years
• Must have the ability to pass background checks and drug test

No CDL? No problem. NRT will pay $20 per hour to get your CDL. If completed in 60 days, $500 extra incentive.

School Van Drivers $19-$20/Hour

7D drivers are needed! No 7D Certificate? They provide PAID training.

• Must be at least 21
• Must have your license for 3 consecutive years
• Must have the ability to pass background checks and drug test
